Tramadol:
Testimonials

Having
been diagnosed with osteoarthritis, my doctor recommended
Tramadol for the pain and it was quite right. I have escaped
the pain, without experiencing any of the side effects
mentioned in other patients and I do not feel drowsy,
tired or anxious at all. My daily intake is of 50 mg and
I guess it all depends on how your body interacts with
the medication given; in my case, it was fine but I do
not recommend taking any medication without prescription.
I am satisfied with the effects of Tramadol and I am going
to keep on taking it, as long as the doctor indicates.
It’s great to have something that helps with the
pain, allowing you to function normally.

Having
a history of substance abuse, the doctor was uneasy to
put me on a treatment with Tramadol. However, I assured
him that I had such problems many years ago and agreed
to a small dosage of 50 mg/day. Currently, I am pain-free
and do not feel the smallest ounce of addiction for Tramadol.
I never exceed the dosage and follow the exact recommendations
of the doctor. I am perfectly happy with the treatment
that was prescribed for me and hope that it will not be
too long before I do not feel the need to take it anymore.

Two
years ago I went into surgery for knee replacement and
had few hopes that I would ever walk again. Fortunately,
I had a great team of doctors working on me and I was
able to recuperate quickly. The only problem was the chronic,
slashing pain for which I was given Tramadol or Ultram
(commercial name). Even if Tramadol can be addictive,
it did not cause me such problems and I am safely undergoing
treatment as we speak. With a dose of 100 mg/day I am
able to concentrate better on my medical rehabilitation
and perform other activities as well. I have heard many
stories about opiate addiction and I am proud to say that
I am not one of them.

It’s
hard to imagine how anyone can pass through such a stupid
accident and still live. The garage door mechanism failed
and it sliced my thigh when it fell down. Operated urgently,
the muscles of my thigh were put together and I was recommended
to stay in the hospital for months, learning to slowly
recuperate. I was given a wide array for medication, some
for circulation, and others for the constant pain that
was nagging me. Tramadol was given to me and the dose
was slowly increased up to 200 mg/day. If at first I felt
sleepy and nauseous, after a few weeks I felt just fine
and became thankful for having a med to eliminate pain.

When
you’re born with grace and elegance, it is impossible
not to become an artist. At the age of 18, I was one of
the nation’s finest ballerinas and working twenty
hours a day. It did not matter the effort, or the pain
I felt. One day I fell on the stage right when I was performing
and broke my leg. I was put on a cast for 2 months and
given pain-relief medication, Tramadol. It may be addictive
but it works just perfect when knives of pain go through
your body. I do not experience side effects and my addiction
is completely under control.

Being
a mom is the most wonderful feeling in the universe and
it does not matter the pain you will suffer. After giving
birth to a beautiful baby girl, I experienced intense
post-partum pains and was directed by the doctor to follow
a treatment with Tramadol. I went on Tramadol because
the pain was extreme and I did not nurse the baby as I
did not have milk. Later on, I found out that the drug
can pass into the milk and to the baby, causing adverse
reactions. For me, Tramadol was exactly was I needed and
I stopped taking it after a period of 6 months. I have
no side-effects to report, which is great.

Ever
since I was little, I just loved to play basketball. I
watched it all day long on the TV and played with my father
in the backyard. Growing up, I joined the team at my high
school and defeated all major teams in my hometown. The
game that was going to bring me a scholarship was the
last, as I was hit by an opponent and sprained my ankle
real bad. The one thing that got me through the pain was
Tramadol, a powerful analgesic and it did not matter how
nauseous, tired or agitated it made me feel. It relieved
the severe pain, allowing me to focus on getting better.

For
years now I have felt a pain in the lumbar region, greatly
accentuated by effort and orthostatic position. The doctor
mentioned something about low back pain, a serious condition
and recommended more rest, plus symptomatic treatment.
I was put on Tramadol and warned about the addictive potential.
If at first I felt the need to take more to free myself
from the pain, once I reached a dosage of 250 mg/day I
did not feel this need anymore. I still take it and indeed
I experienced some of the side effects (nausea, sleepiness
and dry mouth) but these were mild, bearable comparable
to the intense pain I was feeling.

Have
you ever played football? I love it. I played it without
stopping until one day, when during the last minutes of
the game, I dislocated my shoulder. That was not a nice
experience at all. During the next weeks, I underwent
traction maneuvers and even though my shoulder was put
back it still hurt a lot. Tramadol was the solution for
me, even though I was scared at first about all those
side-effects mentioned. Sure, I felt a little bit unenergetic
but I had to make a choice. I preferred not to feel the
pain and luckily with Tramadol I didn’t. Now, I
am free of pain and of Tramadol as well.

The
first time I took Tramadol was when I suffered multiple
injuries from a car crash and remained with a severe pain
in my left foot. The doctors said that it will take some
time for the body to heal on its own and there was nothing
to do but to take this medication. In just a couple of
months, I started to experience side-effects such as vomiting,
chest pains, intense headaches and irritability. Consulting
another doctor, it was found that the dosage of Tramadol
was too high; once the dosage was decreased, the side-effects
disappeared and I was able to resume my life. I’m
still taking Tramadol, as it is efficient and that is
all I am interested in.

I
took Tramadol without consulting the doctor because I
was experiencing pain in the shoulder and was afraid of
what might be discovered. When I started to feel dizzy
and could not sleep for several nights in a row, I finally
decided to go to the doctor and he discovered that I had
suffered a tendon rupture. He suggested a rapid medical
intervention and everything was resolved. I continued
to take Tramadol a month after the operation, following
the dosage and indications of the doctor. This time no
adverse reactions produced and my shoulder recuperated
just fine.

I
grew up at my daddy’s farm and the one thing that
I loved to do was to ride. After taking part in various
competitions, I started to train for major contests and
was confident in my abilities as a rider. Wanting too
much, too soon, I fell from the horse and hurt my back,
being left with a severe pain to support. Several doctors
recommended that I take Tramadol, a strong pain killer
and I did. Now, as I am on my way to recovery, I do not
ride and the medication often takes all my energy away.
The important thing is that it does not hurt so badly
anymore.

I
am 45 years old and was diagnosed one year ago with lumbago.
From that moment, I underwent two surgical interventions
for the rupture of an intervertebral disc associated with
vascular complications. I suffered from chronic pain until
that surgery and was left with a moderate pain even afterwards.
The one treatment I followed with success is the one with
Tramadol, an opiate pain reliever. At a dosage of 150
mg/day, followed exactly as prescribed and with no side-effects
that were visible, I can say that I am doing just fine
and that I am as good as new.

No
one can say if a drug is going to work on you or not.
You have to see it for yourself. And that is exactly what
I just did. I saw the doctor, complained about my chronic
pain and left the office with a prescription for 75 mg/day.
I have been taking Tramadol for almost one year not and
the side-effects come and go. Some days I feel tired and
weak, other days I feel extremely alert and agitated.
The pain has subsided almost completely and I had decided
to continue the treatment as it is efficient. I am not
addicted to Tramadol, I choose to take it because of the
obvious advantages!

I
have taken Tramadol for pain, caused by a nerve laceration
in a work accident. The first time I took it made me feel
restless, irritated and anxious, provoking other upsetting
symptoms including nausea, vomiting and constipation.
After a few weeks, when my body had adjusted to the medication,
I started to feel better and the symptoms became milder
until they disappeared. For me, Tramadol has proven out
to be an effective medication, particularly as I was experiencing
really intense pains and had no other solution. That does
not necessarily mean that this medication works the same
for everyone, so be careful when you take it.

When
you’re young, you do not ever want to think about
having health problems and experiencing constant pain.
I fell of a tree while I was picking fruit and was diagnosed
with medullar section at lumbar level. Fortunately, the
surgery I went through was a success and in two months
I was able to walk again. Still, the pain would not go
away and I had to do something. I was prescribed 100 mg
of Tramadol each day and took it without complaint. It
made me feel almost euphoric and the pain was like it
never existed. I recently stopped taking it, only because
I felt no need for it anymore.
