Cyclobenzaprine
Cyclobenzaprine is the generic form of
Flexeril.
Cyclobenzaprine is a skeletal muscle relaxant. Cyclobenzaprine relieves muscle
spasms of local origin but is not effective in spasms which originate from
diseases in the brain or spinal cord.

Cyclobenzaprine Side Effects
Side effects of
Cyclobenzaprine are usually
mild and consist of drowsiness, dryness of the mouth, and dizziness.
Cyclobenzaprine Precautions
Do not use within 14 days after discontinuing
MAOI's.
Cyclobenzaprine Drug
Interactions
Cyclobenzaprine may interact with
antidepressants of both the monoamine oxidase inhibitor class (MAOI's) and
tricyclic antidepressants such as amitriptyline and imipramine. If taken
with those drugs, a sudden increase in fever with convulsions may occur.
Cyclobenzaprine Dosage
10 mg (1 tablet) three times a day or 20-40 mg
each day in divided doses. Do not exceed 60 mg daily.
